A Reflection: My First Class of Reiki Students

This past weekend, with the timing of a new moon in Libra, I had three queer people in my container to become attuned in Reiki I and II. We did our work over Zoom, because distance Reiki works.

This was my first time teaching Reiki. I was excited. Each student had a copy of the Reiki manual I had meticulously constructed from a few different sources. I like to add as much important information as possible, while avoiding fluff simply to fill space.

As per usual, I finished the manual much quicker than I anticipated. It was time to attune my first three students!!! The ceremony was beautiful. Passing on this practice, which has been a part of my life since I was a teenager, felt like completing a healing cycle.

For the remainder of the first day, we practiced Reiki on one another. I explained my process step by step, then I demonstrated my process by doing Reiki on myself for the class to witness. There is psychic intuition imbued into my Reiki practice, my students quickly picked up on their own capabilities.

The second day began with a discussion of psychic intuition. This to me, is the piece that was missing from my own Reiki training. I do not know practicing Reiki without experiencing psychic input, probably because I am a Pisces, I am one in tune bitchhh. I discussed the different aspects of psychic intuition before walking the students through a meditation to open up to their gifts.

We carried on taking turns bottoming to receive Reiki. I let the students take charge while I remained open simply perceiving what was going on between them. Ya’ll, these three exceeded my wildest expectations. We discovered a cord that was asking not to be cut. We saw shapes of chakras that I had not encountered. We even found one of the students chakras “locked up” inside an hour class. Rather than breaking it open, we left that person with the key to open it when they are ready.

Before closing out the class, the students asked me about psychic hygiene. I am glad they did, because I had not thought to add that into the lecture!!! Thanks to my Akashic Records mentor, I had some slides quickly accessible to walk them through the different aspects of psychic hygiene.

The second day closed out with me receiving wonderful feedback. How I exceeded my students expectations of the offering. It is always nice when that energy is reciprocated. I give my all to my students.

Next week I get to attune the fourth student who just so happens to be a mentor of mine. It is such a blessing to teach someone who has taught me.

I love Reiki <3
